Terms of service
Draft. cobble.host is not open for orders yet, and these terms are not in effect. They are a starting point and have not been reviewed by a lawyer.
What we provide
cobble.host rents you a Minecraft server: memory, storage and a network address, managed through our control panel. You choose a plan, and the plan sets how much memory and storage you get.
Your account
- You need to be old enough to enter a contract where you live, or have a parent or guardian do it for you.
- You are responsible for what happens on your account and your server, including what your players and staff do.
- Keep your login details private and tell us if you think someone else has them.
Paying
- Plans are billed monthly, in advance, and renew automatically until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time. Your server stays online until the end of the period you have paid for.
- If a payment fails, we may suspend the server. After a period of non-payment the server and its files are deleted.
- Refund policy: to be decided before launch.
What you can't use a server for
- Anything illegal, or content that is illegal to host.
- Attacking, scanning or disrupting other servers or networks.
- Cryptocurrency mining, or other work that has nothing to do with running a game server.
- Deliberately using far more shared resources than your plan allows, in a way that hurts other customers.
- Breaking the Minecraft End User Licence Agreement, including its rules on selling in-game advantages.
If a server breaks these rules we may suspend or close it. Where we can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix it.
Backups and your data
We take automatic backups, but no backup system is perfect. You are responsible for keeping your own copy of anything you can't afford to lose. You can download your files at any time while your server is active.
Availability
We work to keep servers online, but we do not promise that the service will never be interrupted. Maintenance, hardware faults and attacks can cause downtime.
Limits on our responsibility
The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for lost data, lost income or other indirect losses, and our total responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us for the service.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters to you, we will let you know before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.
